Haris Azmat

Mr. Haris Azmat is a partner at the Firm. He has been providing wide ranging legal advisory, corporate, transactional and litigation services to a broad spectrum of companies and high profile individual clients. His clients include the Gwadar Port Authority and a former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Mr. Azmat has personally conducted more than 500 cases before the courts in Pakistan which includes a wide variety of trial and appellate work in civil, criminal, commercial and banking matters. Mr. Azmat also has a large number of reported judgments to his credit. He also specializes in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. In 2013, Mr. Azmat drafted and negotiated a concession agreement worth USD 770 million on behalf of the Gwadar Port Authority.

Barrister Azmat did his LL.B. (Hons) from University of London and then went to become a barrister from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Mr. Azmat also completed a course in International Law from the prestigious Hague Academy of International Law in Netherlands.

Mr. Azmat started his law practice at the leading commercial law firm of Bhandari, Naqvi and Riaz (now HaidermotaBNR) and thereafter established his own law firm in 2008 with the name of Azmat and Azmat, Barristers and Legal Consultants. In 2015, he merged his law firm with the Firm.
